Currently, Steve serves as Vice Chair for the American Public Transportation Association Information Technology Subcommittee and as Business Development Director for North America at Masabi, the world’s leading fare payment as a service provider. He focuses on sharing his experience and expertise in transit and technology to assist transit customers in creating best-in-class fare payment platforms for their cities and regions, creating solutions that will grow, adapt, and evolve with customers' needs and the constantly changing mobility landscape.

Before his role at Masabi, Steve served as the Vice President of Technology & Innovation at VIA Metropolitan Transit for eight years, where he led a digital transformation implementing modern, secure cloud technology and creating solutions to expand digital customer interactions and sales channels. As evidenced by his team’s award from the American Public Transportation Association (APTA) Innovation Award as the most innovative transit Agency in North America, a 2019 Info-Tech CIO Award, and the 2019 InnoTech CIO of the Year for San Antonio, Steve has demonstrated technical knowledge, people leadership and industry excellence.  

Before his time with VIA, Steve had a twenty-three-year career in K-12 education, becoming the Chief Technology Officer for Judson Independent School District for ten years.
